1. Chello show
The First of all in Oscar Nominations 2023 is Chello Show! Directed by Paan Nalin, ‘Chhelo Show’ (titled ‘Last Film Show’ in English) is a Gujarati-language story of a young boy’s love affair with cinema in a village in Saurashtra. The movie, which was produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Dheer Momaya, is on the International Feature Film Shortlist.
The “Chello Show” will compete against 14 other movies, including “Argentina, 1985” (Argentina), “Decision to Leave” (South Korea), and “All Quiet on the Western Front” (Germany), according to the Academy’s official website. Belgian films “Clouse” and “The Blue Kaftan” (Morocco).
2. Natu Natu from RRR
The song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from ‘RRR’ has made it to the shortlist for Best Music (Original Song) in Oscar Nominations 2023. This is the third major international nomination for the popular Telugu song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’. At the Oscars, ‘Natu Natu’ will compete with 14 other songs, including ‘Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength)’ from ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, ‘Lift Me Up’ from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda’ Are. Let’s mention that this year’s Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Awards went to the song written by Kaal Bhairav and Rahul Sipligunj and composed by MM Keeravani.
3. All that breathes
Shaunak Sen’s acclaimed film All That Breathes, an internationally co-produced Hindi title, is vying for a top five spot in the Best Documentary Feature category. The movie, which is set in Delhi, tells the tale of two brothers named Mohd Saud and Nadeem Shahzad, who have devoted their entire lives to saving and helping injured birds, particularly eagles.
‘All That Breathes’ won the first World Cinema Grand Jury Prize. The documentary premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, a film gala that promotes independent cinema and filmmakers, and earned the Golden Eye Award for Best Documentary at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.
4. The Elephant Whispers
The last one on Oscar Nominations 2023 is ‘The Elephant Whispers’. This film is by Kartiki Gonsalves is a documentary that depicts an unbreakable bond between two abandoned elephants and their caretakers. It has been produced by ‘Period End of Sentence’ fame Oscar winner Guneet Monga.
