According to the Hindu calendar, Parashuram Jayanti is celebrated on the third day of the Vaishakh month. Parashuram was born on Tritiya Tithi of Vaishakh month.

How was Lord Parshuram born?

According to our old scriptures, the name of the son of Maharishi Bhrigu was Richik. Who was married to Satyavati and she was daughter of King Gadhi. She did penance for Satyavati to have her own child. God was pleased with them and gave them two fruits. And said that Out of this, one is a fruit Kshatriya and one is a fruit with Brahmin qualities.

One was to eat the fruit himself and the other was to give to his mother. But she made a mistake and gave the fruit to his mother, The rest he ate. When Maharishi came to know about this things, Maharishi  bhrugu said on the mistake made by Satyavati that because of your mistake, your son will be full of Kshatriya qualities even after being a Brahmin. And your mother’s son will be full like Brahmins even after becoming Kshatriya. Satyavati then admitted her mistake and asked Maharshi Bhrigu to bless her child with Kshatriya gun. And Lord Parshuram was born.
